Ron Shaw took home the victory in PSCA Street Challenge on October 9th at The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. This victory secured the 2011 PSCA Street Challenge Championship for Ron and his Mustang. Ron was #1 qualifier on Saturday with a 9.357 E.T. at 153.37 MPH. He proceeded to wrap up the class victory and championship on Sunday with an even more impressive 9.322 pass at 154.49 MPH which also garnered him the spot for top speed for the class. PSCA Street Challenge is a uniquely restricted class in that it requires cars to be equipped with stock-style suspension and real 255/60-15 radial street tires… no drag radials or slicks are allowed!
Ron’s Mustang is powered by a small block Chevrolet engine with two stages of nitrous oxide injection. All that horsepower is transmitted through a Hughes Performance 8″ torque converter and TH400 transmission. Hughes Performance congratulates Ron Shaw on his victory and PSCA Street Challenge Championship for the 2011 racing season. It’s truly amazing what Ron has achieved on those little street tires. Great job Ron!
