Kevin Young set both ends of the Wild Street record at the PSCA West Coast Shootout on October 9th at The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Kevin ran an amazing 7.601 E.T. and 188.78 MPH on stock suspension and Mickey Thompson 275/60-15 Drag Radial tires in his 1986 Camaro, all at a race weight of 3,400 pounds.  Kevin also won the Wild Street class for the weekend and is currently the PSCA Wild Street points leader for the season.

Kevin recently made the switch to a Hughes Performance billet 10.5″ torque converter and set the record on his first race with the new Hughes torque converter.  Kevin’s Camaro is powered by a 400 cubic inch small block Chevrolet engine equipped with a crank-driven F2 Procharger.  With the big boost in MPH that the Hughes converter has provided Kevin’s Camaro is quickly approaching the record for becoming the fastest F2-powered drag car in the world.  Hughes Performance is proud to be a part of the Young Brothers racing program and this outstanding new record.  We are looking forward to more impressive results from the Young Brothers race team as they finish out the 2011 season.  Congratulations Kevin!
