MARK WASHINGTON GETS THE JOB DONE IN THE NEW PSCA OUTLAW 8.5 CLASS
The PSCA introduced a new class for the 2012 racing season. The new 1/8-mile Outlaw 8.5 class was first campaigned on a trial basis at 2011's Street Car Super Nationals, and added permanently to the PSCA roster in 2012 with it's debut at the Record Breaker Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mark Washington, a veteran PSCA racer and key member in the West coast heads-up drag racing community, successfully piloted his Mustang to the #1 qualifier position at the inaugural race with a 5.484 E.T. at 131.66 MPH. Running on stock-style suspension and the class spec 26" x 8.5" slick, Mark is a definite contender in the class and is sure to continue to improve upon his already impressive performance. Mark's nitrous-assisted small block Ford engine is backed by a Powerglide transmission and Hughes Performance Pro Series custom built torque converter.
